Stemless Wine Glasses

Stemless is the format that gets reordered. It stacks in a cupboard, it does not tip on a garden table, and there is no stem for a dishwasher rack or a distracted guest to take off. That is the whole argument, and for a venue running a hundred covers a night it is usually the only argument that matters.

The trade-off is temperature: a hand on the bowl warms a white faster than a stem would. Fifteen ounces suits a poured-to-the-line service where the glass empties before that becomes a problem. Seventeen ounces suits reds, spritzes and anything served over ice, where the extra room earns its keep.

Because the wall is straight and continuous, a stemless glass takes decoration a stemmed one cannot. A wrap print can run eight inches around the body, so a landscape logo, a full name or a repeating pattern sits properly instead of being squeezed into a bowl face. Etched marks look particularly good here — the frosted area is flat, so it reads cleanly from any angle.

In practice, yes — the stem is where almost every breakage happens, in the rack and in the hand. The base is also thicker, which is what stops them tipping.

How big can the printed area be?

A wrap print runs up to eight inches around the body, and a single-position print up to about 3.25" x 2.5". We show the exact wrap on the mockup so you can see where the artwork meets itself.

Will my wine get warm?

Faster than in a stemmed glass, which is why the 15 oz is the better choice for whites — it empties before the hand matters. Order stemmed if the service is slow and the wine is cold.
